I enjoyed my time as an officer because I not only had the opportunity to collaborate with people who shared the same passion for the environment as me, but I was able to lead the way for more people to learn about and engage in practices that can save our Earth. This had a positive impact on my life because I was able to make a difference not only in my community and society, but the world. In addition, Green Team has and will continue to have a positive impact on my life because it gives me hope. Through cleaning up a beach/park , growing plants, working bees and other activities, the Green Team is able to make a environmental change in the right direction and that gives me hope for the future!

This year has been a very good year in learning new things and building my leadership. I've always been passionate about the environment and being a part of this team has only solidified that. Following Alana and injecting ideas of my own has shown me how good a year can be for the Green Team, and how good the future years can be as well. I am excited for the year to come and have appreciated every meeting and event I have gotten to participate in.

Being an officer on the green team has been amazing! Not only are the officers welcoming but every member in the club acts as family. It was an honor to be apart of the officer team. All the synergy and the work ethic from the whole group was extraordinary. Being on the officer committee of green team has improved many of my skills. For example, I have increased my communication skills and creative thinking skills! I would recommend being a part of the family, team, and organization of green team!

As secretary of green team this past year, I felt as I got to know every member as an individual which made it easier for me to connect and build relationships with them. Greeting everyone at the door before every meeting and making sure people are aware of their meetings and hours to guarantee membership made me feel like I was doing my part in creating synergy for our team. It was an honor to meet all the wonderful people that green team brought together and I am excited to see what next year brings!

Being a green team officer has allowed me to make connections and find people that have become like a family. When I was originally picked to become an officer I wasn’t sure how well I would fit into the group but as we all got to know each other we became like family. Not only have I been able to make new connections with people but it’s allowed me to help people take a deeper dive into what it means to take care of the environment and the importance of it. Being an office has allowed me to grow in a positive way socially and environmentally.

Judiana Green team has been an influential club for me over the 3 years I’ve been apart of it. I’ve made many friends through the the every week Thursday meetings, a lot that I’m looking forward to keeping for the rest of my life. This year especially, I became a green team curator with Kiley and the times before winter and corona were a blast spending time in the courtyard with her. We cleaned out the green house and started to weed both courtyards. We didn’t get to do much else but the events and meetings, including the officer ones, were entertaining and informative. I’m sad to see senior year end like this but thank goodness for teams and the most amazing club advisor in the school, Mr. Dillman. I’ll miss the beautiful courtyard but I will try to visit as soon as corona lets me. |

Becoming an officer of the Green Team has been a highlight of my senior year. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and working with plants, and being a Curator provided me with the opportunity to engage with my community and make White Oak beautiful. it really was great seeing how much our cleanups in the courtyards and around the school really brightened up the whole place! I'm so grateful to have bonded through all of the hard work with my fellow curator, Judiana, and all of the Green Team members who volunteered with us.I know the future curators will continue to make White Oak beautiful, and I can't wait to see it in the future. |
This year as an officer has been amazing! I was able to work a great team full of some of the most talented and sweetest people. We are all able to communicate to each other and make this year an awesome experience for our members and ourselves, even with a pandemic cutting our year short. Because of our resilience, we came together and were able to provide our members with meetings and challenges to help them stay connected with Green Team. I am thankful for this experience and the things I have learned from being an officer!

EVENTS! |
On August 18th, 2019, The Green Team participated in a beach clean-up at Hammocks Beach State Park in Swansboro, NC to honor a fallen viking. United States Navy Seal, Chris Campbell was killed in battle defending our country. Chris was a graduate of White Oak High School. We did our best to make him proud by cleaning up one of his favorite places in North Carolina, Bear Island.

THE OFFICER TRIP |
This year, a new Green Team tradition was made. Around Halloween, we hosted a pumpkin painting contest for our members. Members got into groups and came up with themes inspired by the environment to paint their pumpkin. After everyone finished and each pumpkin was judged, the winners were announced and given their prizes. Pictured to the right are this years first place winners!

Every year, Green Team holds a special end-of-year meeting to celebrate our graduating seniors and all of our new memories made throughout the year. Due to Covid-19, we weren't able to hold this special meeting in-person, so instead we improvised and held a drive-thru ceremony! To the right are just a few of the beautiful tiles our seniors made to Leaf Their Legacy!
